About Us

Furleigh Farm is a member of North Iowa Fresh and grows produce for the Bounty Box Vegetables Subscription Program.

In 1910 the Furleigh Farm, founded by Richard Furleigh, started out raising hogs, cattle and growing oats and corn. It wasn't until Richard's grandson, Robert, returned home from Iowa State University in 1953 that the farm began producing the delicious strawberries that have become a North Iowa favorite. The farm, located just east of Clear Lake, currently has about 20 acres dedicated to fruit and vegetable production.

Furleigh's are best know for their strawberries and in the past has also operated a U-Pick garden.
We have a passion for providing safe, wholesome, high quality food to our customers all while being good stewards of the environment. We practice LISA (low input, sustainable agriculture) so that the legacy of Furleigh Farms can live on for future generations.

We strive implement good agricultural practices on our farm and have attended a variety of food safety trainings that have aided in our development of an effective Farm Food Safety Plan in both our pre-harvest and post-harvest practices.
